Donavon Frankenreiter is worth a listen especially live

If you like Jack Johnson, you'll like Donavon Frankenreiter. I saw him last night at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, CA. A truly amazing, sold out performance that was real. Nothing overproduced, just raw talent from him and his band. Donavon is a humble surfer/guitarist laying down some heartfelt licks and grooves that we all can relate to. If you get a chance to see him, I highly recommend it. Do it soon before he is selling out the arenas.

The Quest for the Perfect Rib Smoker

Simple is good. After watching Alton Brown's Good Eats show on the Food Network (episode: Q), I was inspired to look into creating my own terra cotta meat smoker. Especially when visiting my brother-in-law who is a smoke-aholic of the rib kind, was this a challenge to tackle.
